Ultrasound upper and lower abdomen

Fasting for 8 hours, without coffee. Water and medication are allowed.

Lower abdomen Ultrasound examination
Drink 4-5 glasses of water one hour before the examination.

Breast ultrasonography
The examination should be performed between the 6th and 12th day of the woman’s period. Previous results of the same examination should be brought, if it is available.

Abdominal aorta Triplex examination
Fasting for 4 hours before the examination.

Hysterosalpingography

Fasting for 4 hours before the examination, without coffee. The examination should be performed between the 7th and 13th day of the woman’s period. In case of allergy we suggest the following: 1 day before and for 3 days after the examination, take 2 tablets of zinadol (500mg), every 12 hours. 1 hour before the examination take a painkiller (the ULTRAVIST 300/50ml).

Upper abdomen CT Scan
Fasting for 4- 5 hours before the examination. Previous results of the same examination should be brought, if it is available.

In cases of allergy, we suggest: 1 ZIRTEK tablet the evening, three days before the examination. On the third evening, add 2 PREZOLON 5mg tablets to the ZIRTEK.

Upper abdomen CT Scan
Fasting for 4- 5 hours before the examination. Previous results of the same examination should be brought, if it is available.

GASTROGRAFIN* preparation must be taken before the examination with the following instructions: 3 bottle capful of GASTROGRAFIN in 3 glasses of water and 6 hours before the examination, or late at night if the appointment is early in the morning.

*GASTROGRAFIN cannot be administered in cases of persons with renal stones, haematuria or abdominal aorta aneurysm.

In cases of allergy take one ZIRTEK tablet in the evening for every three days before the examination. On the third evening, add two PREZOLON 5mg tablets in the ZIRTEK and take one more, 1 hour before the examination.

Pelvic CT Scan
Fasting for 4 hours before the examination.

MRI
Fasting for 4 hours before the examination, without coffee. Previous results of the same examination should be brought, if it is available.

MRCP (MR CholangioPancreatography)
Fasting for 4 hours before the examination, without any water.

ENTEROGRAPY
In cases of allergy: The examinee has to arrive at the Diagnostic Center 1 hour before the appointment for the preparation (the preparation is administered by the machine operator). The appointment has to be arranged early in the morning up to 10:00 am.

Fasting for 8 hours & without coffee. revious results of the same examination should be brought, if it is available (colonoscopy, biopsy, etc.)

Necessary diet for 3 days before the examination:
FORBIDDEN FOODS: Legumes – Vegetables – Μilk products – Sauces
ALLOWED FOODS: Other dry foods

Stress Test

Before the examination
Fasting for at least 3 hours before the examination and for at least 1 hour before the examination do not have any coffee or caffeine containing refreshments. If the examinee is a smoker, she/he has to abstain from smoking 1 hour before the examination.

Previous results of the same examination should be brought, if it is available.

During the examination
Wear comfortable shoes
Wear track suit trousers
Women should not wear tights
In case of medication inform the physician

Stress echo
The examinee is informed by the physicians-cardiologists about the necessary preparation

Stomach
The examinee must have empty stomach without drinking any water before the examination.
