Mantoux Test

The Mantoux method is indicated for early detection and effective tuberculosis control. Through this method, can be found signs of exposure to the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which causes tuberculosis.

This examination is performed with insulin syringe, with an injection of a specified amount of tuberculin around the pedestal. After 48 to 72 hours, the body’s reaction is estimated, based on the diameter of the hardness in millimeters.

In childhood tuberculosis, the majority of children have no symptoms, making the disease particularly dangerous, given its high transmissibility.
