Magnetic tractography

With a Diffusion application, magnetic tractography is used to present imaging of the tract of the white matter. It is a non-invasive mapping of neural tissues and provides important information that helps pre-operative checks, particularly before intra-cranial tumour excision, because it highlights details of their anatomical relations to the course of neural fibres. With the help of a paramagnetic substance, it is possible to record signal changes (depending on MR criteria) and the blood quantity on each and every lesion.

In conclusion, this technique makes it possible to map the morphology and neoplastic invasion by tumours, angiomas, etc., located in critical brain regions. It also allows the diagnosis between a tumour relapse and necrosis following the completion of treatment.
