Gastroenterology - Endoscopy

Rectoscopy

Rectoscopy, also known as Rectosigmoidoscopy, is an endoscopic examination of the colon to the splenic flexure with or without biopsy harvesting. This examination is preferred for some conditions such as haemorrhoid problems, ulcerative colitis or acute enterorrhagia, because it can be performed without any particular preparation for the use of the colonoscope.
